Examples of additional preliminary design drawings and the relationship of drawing to production will be featured on these pages as a example of how the initial concept of a project is then drafted and often rendered in advance of any work in obdurate material so that a fully worked out well understood program between artist and client can be established before the actual work of sculpture is begun..in the renaissance this process was known as Disegno, which was more than just drawing, but the Italian art of the plan, where all the elements of the most complex sculptural projects whether architectural or otherwise were fully worked out by drawing and in the making of the primary sketch models from which the artists and craftsman then worked which the clients acknowledgment of the end result and in agreement so that the interests be met to the patrons satisfaction.
